OBSMUN 2023, was the first in person OBSMUN conference since 2018 and was a magnificent
opportunity for delegates from its 13 different participating countries to come together and
discuss the worlds pressing matters.
This conference was proud to host delegates
from 22 diverse school and a total participant count of 368 students!
The
conference was entirely hosted at the Natixis in Porto Office and provided an exceptional
setting for the conference proceedings to take place. The event was supported by various
sponsors and partners including; Natixis, CM Porto, Visit Porto & Portugal, Fruut, and,
Oporto British School.
The core team consisted of: Pedro Miguel Pinho as Secretary General, Matheus Drehmer, his
Deputy Secretary General, and, Maria João Cerqueira, Chief of Staff. The Team was further
assisted by the lower leadership team; Nicole Carpenter, Isabela Quadros, Maria Santos,
Maria Leal, Alessia Delgado.
On the 4th February, at 18h13 the Secretary General declared OBSMUN 2023 officially
closed and invited all delegates to join in the future.
The OBSMUN 2022 conference was a successful on-line conference with delegates joining from all around the world. With a large selection of different nationalities shown from delegates it was most definitely an international conference, connecting many different nationalities and alternative views in a controlled environment. Many participants improved on various skills such as Public Speaking, Debate skills, and research skills. Alternative activities for delegates to get to know each other ensued during this “out of the ordinary” conference, allowing delegates to connect within themselves.
The event was hosted from the Natixis in Porto Office with support in planning and
organisation from the Natixis in Porto Team and the Oporto British School Administrative
Team, Students and Staff.
It was with great pleasure that the Secretary General of
OBSMUN 2022, João Araújo, alongside Head of Logistics, Pedro Miguel Pinho and Head of
Communications, Lara Machado, declared on the 5th of February at 4:56 PM, the closing of the
OBSMUN 2022 and invited all participants to join all future conferences.
